Newborn Gallery
Newborn gallery for expectant parents in the Orange County and Los Angeles area
A friend of mine was always posting such vibrant and colorful pictures of her daughter. I’m so glad I asked her who did her photography because that’s how I met Edna at Square Eye Photo. She has since done my maternity portraits, newborn daughter’s portraits as well as our family portraits. I have a love for photography and by no means am I an expert but I am very particular about details in my pictures. You don’t have to worry about this with Edna. She’s very thorough with details and pays attention to your wants/specifics prior to your photo shoot. She is very passionate about your satisfaction with her work and has a way like no other to make your pictures magically come alive. Your pictures from Edna will tell a story about a captured moment in time, gone forever and only a memory. Her sessions are fun, finished pictures are colorful and vibrant and truly one of a kind priceless pieces of art and she does this all for a reasonable cost.

What to Expect for your Newborn Session
Plus How to PrepareFirst time newborn moms and dads often have questions abot what to expect on their newborn photography session. I will go through all of the image steps here for you. Plus if you have any other questions feel free to reach out!
1. Plan on arriving a bit early as 90% of my clients are very late. It’s a bit of a daunting task to be a first time mom and take your baby out of your home normally for the first time.
2. Pack plenty of bottles for the baby unless you are breastfeeding. If you are doing both the preference if for the baby to bottle feed before the session as it sits in the stomach longer and keeps baby fuller.
3. Pack snacks and water for yourselves as well newborn photography sessions with me normally last between 2-3 hours but can go to 4-5 occasionally. So please be prepared with any of your needs. There are plenty of restaurants and fast food joints if you want to gran a bite while I am photographing the baby.
4. How to prepare yourself and the baby if you are planning on being in photos with baby please have your hair and make up done and ready before arrival. You can either come dressed or wear something out of my client closet. Please wear shape wear and supportive under garments, Dress baby in a onesie or something easy to remove. Try to wait to feed the baby here at my home studio. Bring a pacifier even if the baby hasn’t shown any interest in it. Bring your diaper bag with standard contents (diapers, wipes, burp cloth, formula, etc) If you are bringing a toddler please bring someone to help with toddler there is a park walking distance from my home studio where an adult can take the toddler to get some energy out, I also have Disney TV, Netflix and Youtube for entertainment.
5. My workflow Normally when you arrive the first thing that we do is remove clothing from baby and just leave the diaper on. I prefer baby to be in natural cotton diaper but it’s not necessary. Once baby is disrobed we will wrap the baby in a warm blanket and the baby can feed and get nice and sleepy. Once the baby is completely asleep which could take a good half hour from start of feeding to completely sleepy, we then start the photography session. I normally will start my session with the parent and family/sibling photos unless this is an older baby and we are only photographing the 1 hour mini session. Once we finish the family portion I will start on the bean bag poses which include wrapped and nude or semi nude poses depending on parental preference. Once those are done we will finish with props. Before the session I will send you a link to a pdf which includes all of the background and wrap colors along with props so that you can choose your favorites and I can prepare before you arrive.
6. Images will be ready for viewing in about a week after I have finished processing your baby’s photos I will schedule a zoom meeting for us to go over all of the images and for you to choose your favorite package. I will make recommendations for size selections and if you are planning on wall art you can send me photos of your space before hand. And that’s it.. easy breezy! I know you will have fun with me here. I encourage plenty of behind the scenes photos!
